FAMILY FIRST HEALTH CELEBRATES NATIONAL DENTAL HYGIENE MONTH
New Hanover Dental Center welcomes Dr. Christopher P. Wherthey, DMD and Stacy L. Guistwite, R.D.H.

Hanover, Pa. (October 9, 2007) - In celebration of National Dental Hygiene Month, Family First Health, a non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing a broad range of primary health, dental care and social services at its sites in York, Lewisberry and Hanover, announces the addition of Dr. Christopher P. Wherthey, DMD and Stacy L. Guistwite, R.D.H. to the Hanover Dental Center scheduled to open in early November.

Together, Wherthey and Guistwite have nearly 35 years experience in the dental field. Their knowledge and insight will prove to be beneficial for the Dental Center's opening and patients.

"We are very pleased to welcome both Dr. Wherthey and Ms. Guistwite," Executive Director of Family First Health, Jenny Englerth said. "The breadth of experience they share will aide us in providing dental care to the uninsured and underinsured in Hanover."

Wherthey has served both the civilian and military communities for the past 12 years. After graduating from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine in 1995 he moved on to his residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. This was the start of his military dental care service, which he continued until 2004 when he moved his career to practicing family dentistry.

Guistwite has 9 years experience in working as a dental assistant and 11 years experience as a dental hygienist working within and around the Hanover area serving the community's dental needs. She received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Harrisburg Area Community College and has a CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

"This new Dental Center is a step in the right direction to help ease the dental strain we see in Hanover," said Englerth. "The inception of the Hanover Dental Center has been nearly three years in the making; finally with the support of our community, local legislators and these additions to our team, we are hoping to treat nearly 4,500 dental patients in our first full-year of operations at the Hanover Dental Center."
