One of the
artist's newest works, Serpentine Single, is on
display at the Suite 3 Gallery along with nearly 25
additional pieces.
(Camp Hill, Pa.) - Hershey Philbin Associates announces that State College artist, Laura Winn Kane, will exhibit a collection of still-life drawings and paintings throughout the months of March and April at the agency's Suite 3 Gallery. The Gallery is available for public viewing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and by appointment at 2101 Orchard Road, Suite 3 in Camp Hill, Pa*. Kane called the exhibit "Relationships" because many of the pieces explored the logical or natural association between two or more objects. "My goal is to create works that will inspire viewers to consider the relationships with their own surroundings or just appreciate the simple beauty that surrounds us each day - whether it is found on a dining room table or on a cluttered office desk," Kane said. "The subjects in this particular exhibit are rendered larger-than-life in an attempt to monumentalize objects' individual qualities and are often treated like stage performers in a tableau scene." The Liverpool, N.Y., native moved to Pennsylvania in 1995 and has become an active supporter of local art. As a member of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania, Kane coordinates weekly drawing sessions and mentors high school students who are interested in the arts. She is also a Signature Member of the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society as well as a member of the Art Association of Harrisburg, Susquehanna River Art Center and Art in Common. Kane's oil paintings and pastels of still-life themes have won numerous national and regional awards.
