Hershey Philbin
Associates' Account Executive, Rick Dapp elected to
Dover School Board
All five candidates are affiliated Dover C.A.R.E.S (Dover Citizens Actively Reviewing Educational/Economic Strategies), the winner of the 2006 York Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award. Dover C.A.R.E.S, a citizens action group whose mission is to assist in building and maintaining a sound education for children and quality of life for all residents in the Dover community has been instrumental in the overwhelming success in the last general election for members of the Dover board. The previous election, which gained national and international attention for the controversy created by the Kitzmiller, et al vs. Dover Area School Board, was tried in the U.S. Middle District Court in 2005. The case, which dealt with the introduction of intelligent design in public school classrooms, has further defined the separation of church and state under the U.S. Constitution. "These were trying times for our community," Dapp said. "But reason won out in the end, Judge Jones' decision was historic, and we are moving forward with continued educational improvement for all of our students." "Our management group at Hershey Philbin Associates, Inc., has long been dedicated to local and state-wide community causes," Rhinehart said. "We like to associate with groups doing great things for large constituencies."
